Generic Information: Acatinib (Acalabrutinib) 100mg — Bangladesh
Acatinib is a Bangladesh-made generic of acalabrutinib produced by Ziska Pharmaceuticals Ltd., a Dhaka-based manufacturer with a broad oncology portfolio. The product is supplied as 100 mg capsules in 60-capsule packs, the standard strength and pack size for the twice-daily acalabrutinib regimen. Acatinib is Ziska's acalabrutinib brand for mantle cell lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia and small lymphocytic lymphoma.
Ziska is an established name in Bangladesh's generic pharmaceutical sector, which supplies affordable oncology medicines across South Asia and beyond. Acatinib offers the same highly selective BTK inhibition as the originator at a materially lower cost, expanding access to this targeted therapy for B-cell blood cancers.
What Is Acatinib Used For?
Acatinib treats the same conditions as originator acalabrutinib: mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) in patients with at least one prior therapy, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL). It provides continuous oral BTK inhibition to control these B-cell malignancies.
How Does Acatinib Work?
The active ingredient, acalabrutinib, is a covalent inhibitor of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK). It permanently blocks the enzyme by binding to a cysteine residue in its active site, interrupting the B-cell receptor signalling cascade that malignant B cells need to survive and multiply. This slows the progression of MCL, CLL and SLL.
Indications
- Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) after at least one prior therapy.
- Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL).
Dosage and Administration
Take 100 mg twice daily, approximately every 12 hours, swallowing the capsule whole with water and with or without food. If a dose is missed by more than 3 hours, skip it and take the next dose at the regular time. Blood counts should be checked regularly because cytopenias are a known risk.
Side Effects
The most frequent adverse reactions are infections (upper respiratory tract, sinusitis, pneumonia), low blood counts (neutropenia, anaemia, thrombocytopenia), headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, nausea, rash, fatigue and musculoskeletal pain. Serious risks include bleeding, serious infections, second primary malignancies, atrial fibrillation and liver injury.
Storage
Store Acatinib below 30°C in the original packaging, away from moisture and out of children's reach. Do not use after the expiry date.
Why Choose the GLT?
GLT verifies each Acatinib batch against Ziska's manufacturing records and provides a documented, traceable supply route for Bangladesh generics. Bangladesh-produced acalabrutinib is priced far below the originator's US list price, making continuous twice-daily therapy far more affordable. We offer clear purchase documentation and a direct contact for after-sales support.
