Product description

Generic Information: Reganni (Laos)

Reganni is a Laos-market brand of regorafenib manufactured by Trans Continental Life Science & Pharmaceuticals (TLPH), a Lao pharmaceutical company. Each pack contains 28 film-coated tablets of 40 mg. Reganni is an affordable option for patients with advanced cancer who need later-line multi-kinase inhibition, particularly in markets where originator regorafenib is costly or difficult to obtain.

What Is Regorafenib (Reganni) Used For?

Reganni is used to treat three advanced solid tumours. It is indicated for metastatic colorectal cancer that has progressed after standard chemotherapy plus anti-VEGF and, where relevant, anti-EGFR therapy; for gastrointestinal stromal tumour resistant to imatinib and sunitinib; and for hepatocellular carcinoma that has progressed on sorafenib. It is a disease-control therapy given once earlier lines of treatment have failed.

How Does Regorafenib Work?

Regorafenib blocks multiple kinases that cancer cells use to grow and to build blood vessels, including the VEGF receptors 1, 2 and 3, TIE2, PDGFR-α and β, FGFR-1 and 2, KIT, RET, RAF-1 and BRAF. By inhibiting this broad network, the drug slows tumour-cell division and cuts off the tumour's blood supply, which helps control disease progression across several cancer types.

Indications

The approved indications are advanced colorectal cancer after prior standard therapy, imatinib- and sunitinib-resistant gastrointestinal stromal tumour, and sorafenib-refractory hepatocellular carcinoma. Treatment should be supervised by an oncologist, and liver function and blood pressure should be checked before and during therapy.

Dosage

The standard dose is 160 mg, taken as four 40 mg tablets once daily with a low-fat meal, in 28-day cycles of 21 days on and 7 days off. A 28-tablet pack covers seven days of the active-treatment phase. The dose may be reduced to 120 mg or 80 mg daily to manage side effects such as hand-foot skin reaction or elevated liver enzymes.

Side Effects

Common side effects include hand-foot skin reaction, diarrhoea, fatigue, high blood pressure, decreased appetite and mouth sores. More serious adverse events can include liver injury, bleeding, gastrointestinal perforation and cardiac problems. Liver function, blood pressure and blood counts should be monitored regularly, and patients should report skin changes, persistent diarrhoea, dark stools or chest pain promptly.

Storage

Store Reganni tablets at room temperature in the original container, protected from moisture, and out of the reach of children. Do not use past the expiry date shown on the pack.
